Allen Newcomb Show Lambs & Treadmills

Pfeiffer Farms

Grand Champion Market Goat – 2024 Tulsa State Fair
Shown by Sayde Allen – Bred by Pfeiffer Farms

What’s the pedigree of your champion?
Bow Down x Juju

How many does do you flush or run?
We run about 1800 head of does, we flush around 209 a year

Who’s been the most influential female in your herd?
Running as many as we do, it’s almost impossible to put your finger on just one.

Favorite industry sire?
Well the obvious answer from this post would be Bow Down. But all jokes aside, Bow Down, Juice, OBX, Revoked, the list could go on and on. They all have their place.

What has changed the most in the last five years in your herd?
We no longer turn bucks out, we just splash breed.

Pfeiffer Farms

Reserve Grand Champion Prospect Market Goat – 2024 American Royal Spring Show
Shown by Keegan Cooley – Bred by Pfeiffer Farms

What’s the pedigree of your champion?
Revoked X Juice

In your opinion, who has been the most influential buck across the industry?
Very loaded question. There is a ton of bucks out there that could be extremely influential, but semen isn’t being sold on them. I think it’s very dependent on what you need in your herd for what can influence you the most.

What makes your operation run smoothly?
Having a dad who plans stuff for every minute of every day. Haha. But really having a plan is the most important. You can’t just wing it.

What does your breeding season look like? Do you AI or flush most of your Females?
We do our fair share of flushing and AIing depending on the time of year. We do most of our flushing from June to October and then most of our natural kids are born after April 1.

How has the new reproduction practices impacted your herd?
Splash breeding has allowed us to get more does bred to younger/better bucks while not giving the bucks an opportunity to get hurt.

What’s your dream as a producer?
We are living on the dream. Getting to do what you love is the actual dream.

Do you prefer online sales or live sales?
Depends on how many goats or who you are trying to sell to.

Shown by Jase Sparks – Bred by Pfeiffer Farms

What’s the pedigree of your champion?
Hidden Treasure X ICE

What was this goat like as a baby?
He’s always been solid, his recip didn’t do the best job so he was definitely skinner than a few.

Who’s been the most influential buck or Doe to your herd?
I don’t know that you could pick a direct one. Just a few that come to mind are Colt, Wrangler, Grey Goose, X-Rated, Juice and HT for bucks. Then for does I would have to say 4030, E738, 931, 5146, E098, 3036, E336 just to name a few

Has there been anything about your operation that is unique that you haven’t seen in other places?
Very hard question, but it is unique to have the numbers we have. 1800 goats, 500 sheep, and 300 cows keeps the 4 of us busy every day no doubt.

Do you prefer Online or live Sales?
We like to have a good mix of both. During a live sale we think it’s important to have a company like CCI.live to make it more available.

Who has influenced you the most in the industry?
Glen Martin

Blue Team Wethers

NAILE
NATIONAL CHAMPION SPOTLIGHT

Grand Champion Market Goat – 2023 NAILE
Shown by Dakota Martin – Bred by Pfeiffer Farms

What’s the pedigree of your champion?
Hidden Treasure X Jager

In your opinion, who has been the most influential buck across the industry?
Very hard question, there has been some huge legends in the industry, and I would say a buck that reached a lot of programs would have to be 900

What makes your operation run smoothly?
We try to make a plan for a pretty long distance out. With the cows sheep and goats, it takes a good amount of time to figure out how we will make everything work out!

What does your breeding season look like? Do you AI or flush most of your Females?
We splash breed, AI, and flush. October to December, we do all AI and flush work, but starting in January, will have natural babies as well.

How has the new reproduction practices impacted your herd?
It has been a great way to use the better, younger bucks on more does

What’s your dream as a producer?
Our biggest goal is to have repeat costumers. Repeat costumers mean dreams are coming true, and that’s a huge dream for us

Do you prefer online sales or live sales?
Hard to say, both sale types are important, and we love seeing the faces and putting them to names.

Pfeiffer Farms

OKLAHOMA YOUTH EXPO
CHAMPION SPOTLIGHT

Reserve Grand Champion Breeding Doe – 2023 Oklahoma Youth Expo
Shown by Tabrey Lierle – Bred by Pfeiffer Farms

What is the best decision you think you made for your operation?
We feel that only selling goats through live or online sales has been a great decision for us. Nothing sells private treaty from our farm.

What buck has played the biggest part in getting you to where you are today?
I would say it would be a mix of four bucks- Chunky Monkey,Colt, Wrangler, Grey Goose

What was your opinion on your champion as a baby?
This doe actually had a pretty rough start. She drifted from 4 different moms before she found one, putting her pretty far behind. When she finally found a mom, she was very skinny, and it took her until mid August to really catch up. But we knew she was special for sure!

If you could take over another operation what would it be and why?
Something that took less work! Haha! We are thankful everyday that we get to do what we love, and wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Who would you like to thank for getting you where you are today?
Glen Martin showed up to our first sale, and hasn’t missed more than a couple since. We are thankful for his knowledge and effort that he puts in to our operation.

We started with 100 does from Harbour Livestock

What is one of the most memorable events from your time as a breeder?
I would have to say going to the Friday night fever wether sale every year.

What do you think has pushed your program forward over the years?
The customers we have gotten over the year is the main thing that has helped our program.

What is your favorite part about raising goats?
Our favorite part is when we get to help family’s and children be a part or the showing industry.

SAN ANGELO STOCK SHOW

Grand Champion Market Goat – 2022 San Angelo Stock Show
Shown by Banner Young – Bred by Pfeiffer

Ladies Man x Snoop dogg
Banner’s goat was also Reserve Division at Georgia National

What is your Favorite doe/donor and why?
That’s a tough one we flush a lot of donors I don’t know that we have a favorite per say but this one’s mother 9097 would rank high on our list.

What us your advice for families wanting to start showing goats?
I think the main thing is the stay positive and always be open to learning. Also this deal takes Alot of work you have to be willing to put the time in to get the reward.

Treadmill vs Track
I like the track better.

Chain vs Halter
Chain every day of the week. The way they carry their head looks so much better than on a halter. The showman also has more control.
