How did you get involved in the industry?
Growing up on a small farm in Hillsboro Ohio.  My parents raised cattle,  sheep, handful of dairy goats along with many small animals and wildlife.   Although my passion at the time was trail riding horses.   I got my fair share of nurturing livestock my intire youth.   4-H and FFA was the foundation that built me.  In 2007 Jeff purchased a few doe’s and a buck as a small project for our newly developed farm just outside of Hillsboro.   The following spring with only a few kids born we were approached by our first client in search of a jackpot wether.  That simple request started the spark of interest to explore the wether goat industry.   With little to base off of the literature began to build on the table and pile in the dash board of the truck.  That very year we raised the Grand Champion Wether at the Highland County Fair.   Raising County Champions every year since and gradually raising jackpot, state and now national level champions.  The pure energy generated by the youth is undoubtedly the fuel that drives us.  As well as the relationships we foster with the families fills our hearts with joy.  Our journey began on a small farm,  small budget, and big DREAMS.

What is one of the most memorable events from your time as a breeder?
It is very difficult to pin point just one.  It has been a building block of events over the 14 yrs as a breeder.  This past show season 2021-2022    has been unfortunately, overwhelming and most memorable.   Ohio State Fair-American Royal- NAILE-New Years National-National Western Stock Show.

What do you think has pushed your program forward over the years?
It was our devotion of staying within our style and look and having patience of building a solid doe foundation.   We kept 100% of our doe crop the first 5 years and to this day we still retain 90% of does each year.

What is your favorite part about raising goats?
Walking into the barn and being greeted by their wide eyed furry faces.   I always shout ” Good Morning ” to quickly remembering how dislike the shouting of hungry goats.  But by far our favorite is the relationships we have fostered over the years.  Goats has brought fantastic “GOOD” people into our circle of friends.
